Wow, I’ve been so busy, masha’Allah. We’ve been getting a lotta jobs here at Hannsmedia, the small design company that I’m in. And I gotta do a couple more cartoons for some visitors who’ve requested for them. As soon as my sense of sarcasm kicks in, I’m gonna do another Shaikr cartoon insha’Allah. Hold on dear visitors!
This beautiful Hadra of the Shadhili-Darqawi order of the Saint, Shaykh ‘Abdur Rahman al-Shaghouri (May Allah sanctify his secret), has been captivating me since I found it on YouTube. It’s too beautiful. Also, nearing the end of the video, Shaykh ‘Abdur Rahman himself appears in the video. Just by looking at him leaves one in awe.

Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller (Shaykh ‘Abdur Rahman’s student) wrote an obituary of this Saint here. I remember receiving news of his death while I was in Tarim, Yemen. Although I’ve never met him before, my heart broke when I heard the news. May Allah bless us with the knowledge he taught.

Sis. Ameera requested a cartoon version of herself and here’s what I came up with, alhamdulillah. She wanted a nerdy-looking Muslimah holding a pen. Oh and she actually took a photo of herself wearing the same coloured outfit, after I did the cartoon for her. Hahaha! Many thanks for the opportunity Sis.!
