Remembering & Celebrating the Beloved

Remembering the Beloved

Happy Birthday Sidi Yursil!

Shaykh Nazim

Here’s a gift for Sidi Yursil and all my Naqshbandi-Haqqani friends.

My First Wacom Sketch!

Wifey got me a nice Wacom Intuos3 Tablet! I’ve been doing all of my illustrations using Razer mice, and thought it was high time I got myself a Wacom. We got it from the IT Show happening right now at Suntec City.

Here’s my first sketch, and it’s of my dear wife:

Business and Strategy Games

I’ve always been an avid RTS (Real Time Strategy) gamer since I first laid my hands on Warcraft a long time back. Each time I play games such as Starcraft, C&C, AOE, COH, etc, I’d get a very satisfying feeling. Now, I couldn’t really tell whether that satisfaction came from the thrill of obliterating enemy towns or the fact that I lacked a social life and needed an avenue to keep myself occupied. I always thought though, that since RTS games forces your brain to function and think strategically, I might learn a thing or two just by playing them.

Then I found this article by Collis Ta’eed. After reading it, I’m convinced that all those years of hardcore gaming might not go to waste after all! I’m planning some stuff with a friend I met on Twitter (that’s you Ben!) and Collis’ article is giving me the encouragement I need.

I found out about his blog from Chris Spooner’s tweet. Thanks Chris!

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

Remember Allah as much as you want,
until people say that you are crazy and foolish”

(Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, al-Hakim)

Our beloved Prophet did not say, “…until you become crazy and foolish” now did he?

This one’s for some seriously delusional people I know.
